Suluada, a pirate deck, or the sunken streets of Kekova. Choose your water.
Most Antalya days end up on a boat. The question is which coast: the white-sand island past Adrasan, the party ships out of Kemer, the Lycian ruins under the shallows at Kekova, or the jade lake behind the Oymapınar dam.

Antalya city, Kemer, Belek or Side: each coast books a different day.
Most tours collect from the hotel, so the resort you pick sets the drive. Kemer sits under the mountains to the west, Belek is all golf and theme park, Side and Manavgat keep the ruins and the river to the east.

Old Antalya: Hadrian’s Gate, the Roman harbour, the falls on the edge of town.
The walled quarter is small enough to walk in a morning: Ottoman houses with timber bay windows, the fluted Yivli minaret, the harbour where the boats leave for the Düden falls. The city tours below join it to the waterfalls and a cruise along the cliffs.

How far each Antalya day trip really drives.
Pickups run in order of distance. Kemer and the cable car are an easy morning; Pamukkale means a coach before sunrise and back after dark; Cappadocia only works as an overnight.
Three Antalya days you will not find anywhere else on the Mediterranean.
Beaches and boat trips run the length of the Turkish coast. A Lycian town under the water, a Roman theatre still in use, and a ten-minute ride from the pines to a 2,365-metre summit are Antalya’s own.

The sunken city at Kekova
An earthquake in the second century dropped part of ancient Simena into the bay, and the foundations, stairways and doorways now sit a metre or two under clear water. Swimming over them is not allowed, so the boats glide along the line instead, then stop at Kaleköy below a castle with Lycian tombs scattered in the village gardens.

Aspendos, Perge and Side
Aspendos keeps the best preserved Roman theatre anywhere, stage wall and all, and still fills its seats for summer performances. Perge, closer to the airport, has a colonnaded street with the water channel still running down its middle. Most tours pair the two with Side and the Manavgat falls.

The Tahtalı cable car
From the pines above Tekirova a cabin climbs to the top of Tahtalı at 2,365 metres, one of the longest single cable car runs in Europe. Snow can sit on the summit into May while people swim on the beaches below. On a clear morning the whole Gulf of Antalya is laid out below.

What a day on the Antalya coast costs, from harbour walk to balloon.
This is one of the cheapest coasts in the Mediterranean to book a guided day on. A boat day with lunch often costs less than dinner at a resort restaurant.
Four Antalya bookings that run on someone else’s clock.
Most of the coast can be fixed at the hotel desk the night before. These four depend on dawn starts, wind and long transfers, so the date you pick matters more than the price.
- 012-Day Cappadocia, Cave Hotel, & Balloon TourBalloons lift at dawn and only when the wind allows. A two-day trip gives you one launch window, so a cancelled morning is gone.
- 02Pamukkale Hierapolis and Cleopatra’s Pool Tour with lunch from AntalyaThe coach leaves before sunrise and the road is about four hours each way. Choose the day with nothing else planned the morning after.
- 03Kekova Sunken City, Demre & Lycia Day TourBoats leave from Üçağız, a long drive west, and the sea crossing depends on the swell. Calm early-summer days book out first.
- 04Olympos Cable Car TicketThe cabin to Tahtalı stops in strong wind. A morning slot leaves room for the clouds that build over the summit by afternoon.
When Antalya hits forty degrees, go under the water or under a dome.
High summer on this coast is hot enough to empty the old town by noon. The answer is the river, which comes down cold out of the Taurus, the sea at ten metres, or a marble hamam where the heat is the point.
